About the Chapter The Chicago chapter is made up of over 30 members, a mix of full & institutional members, associates, and friends. These members hail from not only the Chicago metro area but also Missouri, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. Past chapter co-chairs have included: Renee Tsai, Ted H. Chen, Serena Moy, Kaberi Banerjee Murthy, Kathy Im, and Ramona Gupta. The Chicago chapter has been working to build its relationships in the community with API organizations as well as with other people of color affinity groups. - October 19, 2007, Breakin' It Down 5 Conference. This annual one day conference is developed collaboratively by AAPIP, Blacks in Development (BID), Chicago African Americans in Philanthropy (CAAIP), and Chicago Latinos in Philanthropy (CLIP), and Latinos in Development (LID). - March 15, 2006, AAPIP, CLIP, CAAIP, LID, and BID co-sponsored an Association of Consultants to Non-Profits Diversity Program. Discussion on the importance to nonprofit organizations of creating culturally inclusive environments from the board to the staff levels. The presenters explained how to see through a diversity lens and explore concepts such as examining filters and privilege in order to create more productive organizations.
