What is the National Gender & Equity Campaign?

The National Gender & Equity Campaign (NGEC) is a demonstration project of AAPIP to build and strengthen the social justice infrastructure of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities. NGEC believes that AAPI community organizations and grassroots leadership are vital to building a truly inclusive and effective social justice movement.

Created by Asian American women and their communities, the NGEC focuses on building the social justice capacity of grassroots community organizations and mobilizing philanthropic resources for communities to address inequity now and to achieve long-term social change.

NGEC’s program design consists of a 3-part approach to strengthen organizations:
1.  Multi-faced capacity building support to develop organizational social justice capacity including: organizational assessments, trainings, technical assistance, culturally-competent tools and resources, referrals, and peer-to-peer learning.  Find out more about NGEC's approach to social justice capacity building....read more >

2.  Programs are experimental and experiential – we continually test and refine our processes and tools by actively seeking feedback from our community partners about what they find most useful and effective.  Learn about the groups in NGEC's Organizational Fellowship Program...read more >
3.  Pairing philanthropic investment with capacity building.
